That\\u2019s because even massive orgs being run by a hundred MBA\\u2019s at some point can feel uncertain about a decision, and that\\u2019s when they can take a moment to reflect on their values. \"), mdx(\"p\", null, \"We as humans get lost all the time in our heads! Its part of who we are and it\\u2019s a wonderful thing. Being confused fuels curiosity which leads to innovation and has helped build the wonderful world we live in.\\nAs a lover of philosophy and philosophical studies, I am always amazed by the amount of ways different human minds can come up with hundreds of different solutions, or pose million more questions to a given scenario.\\nHowever, philosophy has also taught me that it\\u2019s easy to build a spiderweb in your head and obsess about the million different ways a situation can go. \"), mdx(\"p\", null, mdx(\"img\", _extends({\n    parentName: \"p\"\n  }, {\n    \"src\": \"/15033f5c861001cb482c1553977c0476/conspiracy-guy.gif\",\n    \"alt\": \"Me Explaining all the ideas\"\n  }))), mdx(\"p\", null, \"Its times like these when one must rely on their values to help them straighten things out and understand the direction they want to go in. Everytime I am posed with a difficult situation, lack of motivation, or just feeling down,\\nI look upon my list of values that I have listed as \\u201CLife Commandments\\u201D in my office whiteboard to help me get back at it.\"), mdx(\"h1\", {\n    \"id\": \"goals-vs-values\"\n  }, \"Goals vs Values\"), mdx(\"p\", null, \"First of all let\\u2019s make sure this is taken care of! I\\u2019ve heard many people confuse goals with values. Goals are generally tangible targets with a fixed outcome on a given timeline that you can adhere to, atleast that\\u2019s what effective goal setting teaches us.\\nHowever, values are like a principle that you adhere to. You can set multiple goals to stay true to a given value in your life.\\nFor e.g. A value can be \\u201CCherish relationships\\u201D and goals under that can be \\u201CCall your friends once a week\\u201D, \\u201CRemember birthdays\\u201D, etc.\"), mdx(\"p\", null, \"Values are \", mdx(\"em\", {\n    parentName: \"p\"\n  }, \"\\u201CWhat?\\u201D\"), \" and goals are \", mdx(\"em\", {\n    parentName: \"p\"\n  }, \"\\u201CHow?\\u201D\"), \".\"), mdx(\"p\", null, \"Now I am a very goal oriented person! I create goals left and right and before all my hunt for purpose in my life, my goals were all over the place. Some would give me a sense of achievement, others merely felt like a to-do list.\\nHaving identified a set of values in my life, I am able to attribute a goal to these values. If anything doesn\\u2019t seem to fall within the realm of these principles, I can take a moment to question its importance and possibly drop it altogether.\"), mdx(\"h1\", {\n    \"id\": \"identifying-values\"\n  }, \"Identifying values\"), mdx(\"p\", null, \"So how exactly do you figure out your set of values? \\uD83E\\uDD14\"), mdx(\"p\", null, \"Well it begins with a deep sense of self! You need to be \", mdx(\"strong\", {\n    parentName: \"p\"\n  }, \"really\"), \" aware of your current situation with work, life, career, personal relationships, etc.\\nOnly then can you highlight the areas you are needing to improve or stay close to.\"), mdx(\"p\", null, \"Here are the steps that I followed to setup my list of values.\"), mdx(\"h3\", {\n    \"id\": \"step-1-list-all-that-you-value\"\n  }, \"Step 1. List all that you value.\"), mdx(\"p\", null, \"If you\\u2019ve ready my other posts, you know that I always gather data first! A list of resources to use as starting points so you don\\u2019t feel lost from the beginning.\\nMy preferred/recommended way to get there is meditation and mindfulness! Explore past relationships, careers, trips, hobbies etc.\\nFind out what you liked/disliked about those.\\nFor e.g. \\u201CI always enjoyed going on camping with my partner\\u201D, or \\u201CMy trip to iceland was wonderful because of all the beautiful outdoors\\u201D.\"), mdx(\"p\", null, \"Even if you don\\u2019t feel like anything is terribly important at the current stage, atleast the Nostalgia would be nice. \\uD83D\\uDE04\"), mdx(\"p\", null, \"If you feel absolutely lost, go online! A simple Google search about \\u201Cwhat values to pick\\u201D will give you lists of hundreds of things to choose from. Even though these didn\\u2019t originate from you, that\\u2019s ok!\\nSometimes a little nudge is needed to jog our memory.\"), mdx(\"h3\", {\n    \"id\": \"step-2-identify-patterns\"\n  }, \"Step 2. Identify Patterns.\"), mdx(\"p\", null, \"Now that you have a major list of memories at your disposal and you\\u2019ve extracted the lessons from them, let\\u2019s figure out if any of those stories exhibit a pattern!\\nThe e.g. I listed in Step #1, tell me that I just really enjoy outdoors! So one of my values would be \\u201CSpend more time outdoors!\\u201C.\\nSo the next time I am in flux with where should I go for my next time off, I will have an easier time to choose.\"), mdx(\"p\", null, \"Ideally at the end of this, you\\u2019ll have a list of 3-10 values you want to either get better at, or focus more on in life. If you have more than 10, I\\u2019d recommend picking the top 10!\\nEven 10 can be overwhelming but it\\u2019s easier to break it down into pieces if need be.\"), mdx(\"h3\", {\n    \"id\": \"step-3-put-them-up-where-you-can-see\"\n  }, \"Step 3. Put them up where you can see.\"), mdx(\"p\", null, \"Pick a place where you are constantly reminded of these! Maybe they\\u2019re in a diary you look at before you go sleep or at random times throughout the day!\\nMaybe you can create a chart and put it up in your office. I myself have chosen to have them written in my home office and have a digital copy in my phone to look at occasionally.\"), mdx(\"h3\", {\n    \"id\": \"step-4-action\"\n  }, \"Step 4. Action\"), mdx(\"p\", null, \"Once you have a set of values, it\\u2019s really important to be mindful and actively pursue them! Before you know it, they\\u2019ll be second nature to you. \\uD83D\\uDC97\"), mdx(\"p\", null, \"One way is to choose one value on your list and make an active note to practise it daily/weekly/monthly. For e.g. If \\u201CCherish relationships\\u201D was my value of choice for a month,\\nI would call/text a friend, tell people I\\u2019m grateful that they\\u2019re in my lives, or just make internal notes about what relationships I do cherish.\"), mdx(\"p\", null, \"Another one is to do a rundown of your day before going to bed and seeing how many decisions you make during the day that fell within one of your values. The goal isn\\u2019t to make each action fall within our values set, but to increase the amount of active decisions you make to be influenced by them.\"), mdx(\"p\", null, \"NOTE: This is my process and it\\u2019s constantly evolving! I do a rinse, repeat \\uD83D\\uDD01 quite frequently and it may take a bit of trial and error to see what helps you succeed. They get replaced occasionally and I add new ones all the time. I\\u2019ve gotten better the more I do this activity but it\\u2019s normal to not value something you valued months ago.\\nYou may feel the need to do so either because it\\u2019s just not giving you happiness or perhaps it\\u2019s not as urgent anymore since you have higher priority things to look after.\\nJust know it\\u2019s all OK.\"), mdx(\"ul\", null, mdx(\"li\", {\n    parentName: \"ul\"\n  }, mdx(\"p\", {\n    parentName: \"li\"\n  }, mdx(\"strong\", {\n    parentName: \"p\"\n  }, \"Be Kind \\uD83D\\uDC93\")), mdx(\"p\", {\n    parentName: \"li\"\n  }, \"  I have always wanted to be a kind person! So everytime I am angry, irrational, or have any negative emotions towards anyone, I stop to think about this value to help me think more clearly.\")), mdx(\"li\", {\n    parentName: \"ul\"\n  }, mdx(\"p\", {\n    parentName: \"li\"\n  }, mdx(\"strong\", {\n    parentName: \"p\"\n  }, \"Do It Now \\u23F2\")), mdx(\"p\", {\n    parentName: \"li\"\n  }, \"  I read somewhere on the internet that \", mdx(\"em\", {\n    parentName: \"p\"\n  }, \"\\u201CProcrastination is your ego convincing you that the universe owes you another opportunity to do something you already had time to do.\\u201D\"), \"\\nThat quote drilled so hard in my mind that I have adopted an habit of just doing things right in the moment. Ofcourse I fall of the wagon at times, but this always brings me back on.\")), mdx(\"li\", {\n    parentName: \"ul\"\n  }, mdx(\"p\", {\n    parentName: \"li\"\n  }, mdx(\"strong\", {\n    parentName: \"p\"\n  }, \"Act how you want to feel \\uD83D\\uDC83\")), mdx(\"p\", {\n    parentName: \"li\"\n  }, \"  Studies after studies have shown that humans can actively control their mind and tap into a certain emotional mindset if they focus hard enough. People who smile everyday and often are shown to be generally happier than those who don\\u2019t.\\nWe can rewire ourselves to change our moods and on cold wintery dark mornings this value helps me wake up with a happy mindset to look forward to wonderful things.\")), mdx(\"li\", {\n    parentName: \"ul\"\n  }, mdx(\"p\", {\n    parentName: \"li\"\n  }, mdx(\"strong\", {\n    parentName: \"p\"\n  }, \"Let it go \\u262E\")), mdx(\"p\", {\n    parentName: \"li\"\n  }, \"  Holding a grudge against someone ultimately only ever hurts you! I have fallen into this trap more times than I care to count. I can look at a negative to any situation! \\u201COh that movie was great, but the tickets were expensive\\u201D, \\u201CI like my PC but I don\\u2019t game so much\\u201D, \\u201CThat guy was friendly but I don\\u2019t need more friends\\u201D etc.\"), mdx(\"p\", {\n    parentName: \"li\"\n  }, \"  Being actually appreciative and grateful for people/things in my life has really helped me be more humble and happier in general. That\\u2019s why people always say not to make a decision when you\\u2019re angry!\"), mdx(\"p\", null, \"Practises like meditation implores you to sit down with yourself and truly understand what is going on within you without any judgments. You\\u2019re not expected to stop any thoughts from entering your head, you just sit there observing them.\\nYou try to find out if there are any patterns or the root cause if something\\u2019s truly bothering you and how you can be free of it.\"), mdx(\"p\", null, \"I\\u2019d also like to touch on two important points before we proceed with the types of meditation:\"), mdx(\"ol\", null, mdx(\"li\", {\n    parentName: \"ol\"\n  }, \"Meditation can be frustrating at times if you\\u2019re not in the right headspace or just not feeling well and that\\u2019s OK. By not judging, we can focus on facts and circumstances and take mindful steps. I\\u2019ll also briefly touch on the word \\u201Cmindfulness\\u201D as it\\u2019s generally tied together with meditation.\\nSimply put, meditation is an excercise while mindfulness is a state of being. I will write about the ones I personally practise or have closely observed.\"), mdx(\"ul\", null, mdx(\"li\", {\n    parentName: \"ul\"\n  }, mdx(\"p\", {\n    parentName: \"li\"\n  }, \"Mindfulness Meditation\"), mdx(\"p\", {\n    parentName: \"li\"\n  }, \"  This is the most famous form of meditation and excellent to start off with. You get in a comfortable position, close your eyes, take deep breaths and observe your thoughts.\\nYou don\\u2019t judge em, you don\\u2019t stop em, you don\\u2019t even try to figure out why they\\u2019re there. You simply train to understand any patterns between them and learning more about how your mind works.\")), mdx(\"li\", {\n    parentName: \"ul\"\n  }, mdx(\"p\", {\n    parentName: \"li\"\n  }, \"Focused Meditation\"), mdx(\"p\", {\n    parentName: \"li\"\n  }, \"  This one\\u2019s quite common in religious groups but also a bit hard. You focus on a singular thing and maintain focus for as long as possible.\\nYou can either count beads on your fingers, focus on a certain sound with a certain pattern, or observe your breathing. I generally just sit there and count my breathing slowly, inwards and outwards.\\nEverytime my mind wanders or some thought takes my focus away, I restart the count and try again.\")), mdx(\"li\", {\n    parentName: \"ul\"\n  }, mdx(\"p\", {\n    parentName: \"li\"\n  }, \"Movement Meditation\"), mdx(\"p\", {\n    parentName: \"li\"\n  }, \"  Have you ever walked around the park and seen people slowly move around practising a certain set of martial art movements? They\\u2019re practising this kind of meditation.\\nMany people argue that Movement meditation is just Mindfulness meditation with an activity and I do agree with that statement to some extent.\\nSo if you prefer that over sitting in one spot, definitely give it a try. The aim is to bring all your attention to each movement you are doing and staying in the dynamic present.\")), mdx(\"li\", {\n    parentName: \"ul\"\n  }, mdx(\"p\", {\n    parentName: \"li\"\n  }, \"Mantra Meditation\"), mdx(\"p\", {\n    parentName: \"li\"\n  }, \"  This one\\u2019s a lot more famous in the Eastern culture. You repeat a certain phrase, word, or sound over and over and bring all your attention to it.\\nIn Hinduism, people chant the word \\u201COM\\u201D and it is \", mdx(\"a\", _extends({\n    parentName: \"p\"\n  }, {\n    \"href\": \"https://www.hinduamerican.org/blog/5-things-to-know-about-om\",\n    \"target\": \"_blank\",\n    \"rel\": \"noreferrer\"\n  }), \"believed\"), \" to have major physical, mental, and spiritual significance.\")), mdx(\"li\", {\n    parentName: \"ul\"\n  }, mdx(\"p\", {\n    parentName: \"li\"\n  }, \"Incremental relaxation\"), mdx(\"p\", {\n    parentName: \"li\"\n  }, \"  By far my favorite while for when I\\u2019m having a sleepless night. You slowly start to tighten and relax different body parts starting from top to bottom and then you do the same with ALL your muscles.\\nNot only does it slowly help relax and increase awareness of your body parts, the tensing and relaxation of entire body part is perceived to be similar to an orgasm to help you relax.\")), mdx(\"li\", {\n    parentName: \"ul\"\n  }, mdx(\"p\", {\n    parentName: \"li\"\n  }, \"Visualization Meditation\"), mdx(\"p\", {\n    parentName: \"li\"\n  }, \"  This one\\u2019s also a favorite one especially with the whole world in lockdown. You sit in one spot and slowly build up and image of where you want to be! For e.g. if you were thinking of a beach, you can start off with imagining the sand,\\nthen the water, the air, the birds, the water touching your feet and so on. Once you get a bit good at it, it\\u2019s nothing less than a mental teleportation \\uD83D\\uDE0D\")), mdx(\"li\", {\n    parentName: \"ul\"\n  }, mdx(\"p\", {\n    parentName: \"li\"\n  }, \"Love/Gratitude/Forgiveness Meditation\"), mdx(\"p\", {\n    parentName: \"li\"\n  }, \"  At last, the meditation I do everytime I want to feel good about life, or when I\\u2019m feeling any emotion towards someone I\\u2019d like to free myself off. The theme is simple, you sit down and imagine being in a room with someone and execute a mental conversation with them.\\nIf you love them it\\u2019s good to describe in detail what about them you love and how grateful you are about the impact they had in your life. If you\\u2019re angry at someone you can talk about your feelings and how you feel.\\nThis practise sometimes gets discouraged by people with the justification \\u201CPeople who have these conversations in their head, won\\u2019t be having these in person.\\u201D.\"), mdx(\"p\", {\n    parentName: \"li\"\n  }, \"  In my experience, I have not found this to be true! Quite the opposite actually! Its the first quote that popped in my head while I was thinking of quotes for this post and I probably haven\\u2019t heard/read it in over 10 years.\\nYou can google anything related to \\u201Cwaking up early in the morning\\u201D and a billion articles will show up! Countless books over decaded have talked about its importance!\\nEven one of my dearest friends wakes up at 4:30 AM every day \\uD83D\\uDE31. When he told me about it I thought he was insane, but you talk to the guy and you get to realize he\\u2019s one of the more disciplined, well-put, have-their-crap-together people out there.\"), mdx(\"p\", null, \"Alright fine, seems like the majority votes this as a good habit that\\u2019s been studied over centuries! It was also was interesting to me that everything on the PROS column was driven only by me, for me and that\\u2019s something I really liked.\\nThe last point was a HUGE motivator as well! In Vancouver, we get enjoyable sunlight for maybe 4 months and so the timing was perfect!\\nEverything in my CONS list was either not a problem anymore or could be easily deferred/resolved.\"), mdx(\"p\", null, \"So now I had data, goals, and motivation to go for it and stick with it. \"), mdx(\"h2\", {\n    \"id\": \"planning-phase-\"\n  }, \"Planning Phase \\uD83D\\uDCD3\"), mdx(\"p\", null, \"My mother always told me that it takes 21 days to form a habit! Just 3 weeks and you\\u2019re a new person \\uD83D\\uDD25\\nSo ofcourse my first google search was to validate if this is actually true \\uD83D\\uDE05. Also my mother is one of the most disciplined women I\\u2019ve ever known in my lifetime and so who am I to dismiss her teachings without even trying it first.\"), mdx(\"p\", null, \"I created a very simple morning routine for me to stick to.\"), mdx(\"ol\", null, mdx(\"li\", {\n    parentName: \"ol\"\n  }, mdx(\"p\", {\n    parentName: \"li\"\n  }, \"Wake up anytime between 6-6:30. ( I have an app on my phone that wakes me up when I\\u2019m not in deep sleep so I\\u2019m less groggy. )\"), mdx(\"ul\", {\n    parentName: \"li\"\n  }, mdx(\"li\", {\n    parentName: \"ul\"\n  }, \"NOTE: Depending on your lifestyle 6-10 hours of sleep may be necessary! Adjust your bedtime accordingly.\"))), mdx(\"li\", {\n    parentName: \"ol\"\n  }, mdx(\"p\", {\n    parentName: \"li\"\n  }, \"GET OUT OF BED! ( Very important! Once you actually leave the bed, your chances of falling asleep are much lower. )\")), mdx(\"li\", {\n    parentName: \"ol\"\n  }, mdx(\"p\", {\n    parentName: \"li\"\n  }, \"Brush your teeth, or wash your face with COLD water. ( Cold water increases your attention and it\\u2019s quite refreshing when you\\u2019re used to it. )\")), mdx(\"li\", {\n    parentName: \"ol\"\n  }, mdx(\"p\", {\n    parentName: \"li\"\n  }, \"Do light stretching or go for a walk/run. ( Physical activity tells your body that day has started and actually helps to become active. )\"))), mdx(\"p\", null, \"NOTE: This is an incremental process! My wake up time before this was somewhere between 7:30-8 so 6-6:30 was an attainable goal. If you normally wake up at 10 AM, try reducing it to 8 AM and slowly keep going.\"), mdx(\"h2\", {\n    \"id\": \"execution-phase-\"\n  }, \"Execution Phase \\uD83D\\uDCB9\"), mdx(\"p\", null, \"So day 1-3 were great! I was motivated, I was happy, I was energetic, and I felt so productive!\\nHowever, on day 4, I did my morning routine, lied down on the couch and did a self check-in and I channeled my internal Scott Pilgrim similar to the gif below:\"), mdx(\"p\", null, mdx(\"img\", _extends({\n    parentName: \"p\"\n  }, {\n    \"src\": \"/01f6c25aeca7ea7b24e05cb9776396f7/scott-its-hard.gif\",\n    \"alt\": \"But it's haaaarrdd\"\n  }))), mdx(\"p\", null, \"I needed a boost, I needed an external stimulant to help get over the hump. I decided to go back to my dear old friend caffeine.\\nIn order to increase my water intake a while back, I weaned off of coffee/tea and started carrying a water bottle with me. It helped me maintain energy throughout the day instead of short spurts, get better sleep, and better workouts.\"), mdx(\"p\", null, \"However with the my current problem of low energy in the morning, I needed to supplement it with a Step #5.\"), mdx(\"p\", null, mdx(\"strong\", {\n    parentName: \"p\"\n  }, \"5.\"), \" Make a cup of tea. (Earl Grey or Grand Cru Matcha are my go-to.)\"), mdx(\"p\", null, \"The results were great! Not only was I less lethargic, I felt more focused as one normally does with stimulants. So I decided to start off my work days early and get anything related to focus (coding, reviews etc.) out of the way.\\nBy the end of week 2, I was able to finish most of my focus work by 10 AM and could dedicate the rest of time to meetings, administrative work, documentation etc.\"), mdx(\"p\", null, \"By end of week 3, I had successfully adopted a new habit \\uD83C\\uDF89 The results were measurable and significant as well!\"), mdx(\"ul\", null, mdx(\"li\", {\n    parentName: \"ul\"\n  }, \"I was able to take some time to chat with friends and family in different time zones.\"), mdx(\"li\", {\n    parentName: \"ul\"\n  }, \"I had finally started to meditate and loved the calmness that followed.\"), mdx(\"li\", {\n    parentName: \"ul\"\n  }, \"Getting most of my focus work and workouts done in the morning allowed me to feel like I have more time during the other half of the day!\"), mdx(\"li\", {\n    parentName: \"ul\"\n  }, \"I had more time to read, play video games, and do things I was normally too \\u201Cbusy\\u201D to do.\"), mdx(\"li\", {\n    parentName: \"ul\"\n  }, \"I was able to learn a lot more about day trading and stocks by waking up before the market opens on the east coast.\"), mdx(\"li\", {\n    parentName: \"ul\"\n  }, \"I could take in all the sunshine that the short Canadian summers had to offer. \")), mdx(\"p\", null, \"At the time of writing this, I\\u2019m proud to say that I\\u2019ve been a morning person now for about 6 months and my wake-up window is between 5:30-6 and I have no plans of shifting it any earlier than that anytime soon as I am very \", mdx(\"strong\", {\n    parentName: \"p\"\n  }, \"happy\"), \" with it \\uD83D\\uDE04.\\nSome additions/replacements were made to the morning routine including but not limited to, reading a book, breathing excercises in bed, sending texts to friends/family reminding them that they are loved.\\nThese things allowed me to feel great even before the day had really even started! The important part is to keep switching it up or the morning routine can get quite boring and that\\u2019s a surefire way of falling back asleep.\"), mdx(\"h2\", {\n    \"id\": \"setbacks-and-solutions-\"\n  }, \"Setbacks and Solutions \\uD83E\\uDD15\"), mdx(\"p\", null, \"In case anyone had any doubts, I am a human being and I do run into setbacks all the time. Even now waking up in the morning at times is challenging but I have found ways to accept them and take relevant actions.\\nLet me know if any of these sound familiar:\"), mdx(\"ul\", null, mdx(\"li\", {\n    parentName: \"ul\"\n  }, mdx(\"p\", {\n    parentName: \"li\"\n  }, mdx(\"strong\", {\n    parentName: \"p\"\n  }, \"I\\u2019m generally not tired enough to go to bed at 10PM or earlier.\")), mdx(\"p\", {\n    parentName: \"li\"\n  }, \"  I hear you! I have had my fair share of lying in bed sleepless trying to fall asleep without much success. The following has helped me quite a bit:\"), mdx(\"ul\", {\n    parentName: \"li\"\n  }, mdx(\"li\", {\n    parentName: \"ul\"\n  }, \"No screen time an hour before bed-time. That means, no laptop, no mobile, nothing that emits blue light. Many studies have shown that blue light is not good for our eyes or sleep.\"), mdx(\"li\", {\n    parentName: \"ul\"\n  }, \"Create a bedtime ritual! I generally do a little relaxing stretch, brush my teeth, get cozy in my bed and read a book before I fall asleep.\"), mdx(\"li\", {\n    parentName: \"ul\"\n  }, \"Make sure your bedroom lights are dim and temperature is on the cooler side of things.\"), mdx(\"li\", {\n    parentName: \"ul\"\n  }, \"Use additional help, but don\\u2019t make a habit of it. Occassionally i\\u2019d listen to piano music, white noise or take a small piece of a melatonin to help me fall asleep.\"), mdx(\"li\", {\n    parentName: \"ul\"\n  }, \"Most importantly! Be Consistent. I cannot put enough stress on the importance of going to bed on time.\"))), mdx(\"li\", {\n    parentName: \"ul\"\n  }, mdx(\"p\", {\n    parentName: \"li\"\n  }, mdx(\"strong\", {\n    parentName: \"p\"\n  }, \"Getting out of bed is haaardddd.\")), mdx(\"p\", {\n    parentName: \"li\"\n  }, \"  No arguments here! It\\u2019s a perfect example of Newton\\u2019s 1st law of motion. You will continue to stay in a position of rest unless an external force is applied. Turning off the alarm is easy, getting out of the sheets is HARD.\\nWhat has helped me, is I keep a bottle of water next to me on the nightstand so that when the alarm goes off, I sit up straight and practically chug a bunch of water.\\nI\\u2019ve also programmed my google home to turn on my smart lights so I am forced to get out of the bed and I have the bright daylight bulbs to make it bright.\")), mdx(\"li\", {\n    parentName: \"ul\"\n  }, mdx(\"p\", {\n    parentName: \"li\"\n  }, mdx(\"strong\", {\n    parentName: \"p\"\n  }, \"I want to attend an event in the evening and cant sleep at 10\")), mdx(\"p\", {\n    parentName: \"li\"\n  }, \"  Ah yes! Preplanned events. The very first thing you should ask yourself it you actually really \\u201Cneed\\u201D to go. If it\\u2019s something you do need to go for personal reasons or otherwise then there\\u2019s a couple of things you can do.\\nIf I know there\\u2019s an event, I take a nap in the evening/afternoon so I can shift my bedtime to 12ish and still wake up early the next day. However if you can\\u2019t, just sleep in the next day :) We all fall off the wagon, the important part is getting back up.\")), mdx(\"li\", {\n    parentName: \"ul\"\n  }, mdx(\"p\", {\n    parentName: \"li\"\n  }, mdx(\"strong\", {\n    parentName: \"p\"\n  }, \"I can\\u2019t leave my apartment to go for a walk\")), mdx(\"p\", {\n    parentName: \"li\"\n  }, \"  If it\\u2019s too cold out, just layer up and go, its\\u2019 the only solution! The cold will incidently help with being more alert and to help you wake up.\\nIf you are unable to go out due to any other reason, walk around your apartment!
